The exhibition “VIE DI SETA PESARESI. SPINNING MILLS IN PESARO BETWEEN THE 19TH AND 20TH CENTURY”, curated by Cristina Ravara Montebelli and Sara Cambrini, set up at the State Archives of Pesaro, under the aegis of the international project Aracne Project, has met with considerable public success, thanks not only to the new theme and the documents on display, but also to the richness and originality of the exhibition, with objects and artistic artefacts on loan from various city institutions and collectors.
In consideration of the requests received from the schools of Pesaro that have not yet been able to visit the exhibition, and to allow others - associations, groups and individuals - to visit it, the State Archives has decided to extend the closing date until December 15, 2024.
The lenders of the objects, first of all the Gabriele Stroppa Nobili Archive, which provided the iconographic documentation and the Mengaroni High School, which lent fabrics and clothes, but also the Diocesan Historical Archive of Pesaro, the Oliveriana Library and numerous private collectors (Associazione Amici del Foulard, Florence; Centro Studi Naturalistici Valconca, San Giovanni in Marignano; Collezione Luisa Maione, Pesaro; Collezione Maria Rita Golfieri Palloni, Rimini; Museo della ceramica moderna e contemporanea), have enthusiastically joined the extension proposal.
During the months of November and December, some meetings are scheduled, alongside the initiative, which are being defined.
On Friday, November 15, at 5:00 p.m., starting from a trial for the theft of cocoons exhibited in the exhibition, the historian Riccardo Paolo Uguccioni will discuss with Sara Cambrini and Cristina Ravara Montebelli the theme of justice and criminal procedure in the Papal State.
Followed by a free guided tour of the exhibition with the curators.
The exhibition is free and can be visited during the opening hours of the State Archives: Mon-Fri: 8:30-19:00; Saturday 8:30-13:30.
