The State Archives of Pesaro-Urbino and the Fano and Urbino Sections offer a correspondence research service:
Searches on the Military District collection (conscription results and matriculation rolls)
The State Archives of Pesaro-Urbino preserve the sheets and matriculation rolls relating to the soldiers who served in the army from 1839 to 1940.
The series of Conscription Results, initially divided into the two districts of Pesaro and Urbino, covers the period 1839-1950-
The request for military documentation must be sent by email exclusively to the address:

The following data must be provided for searches:
name; surname; year of birth (or time frame limited to 3 years); place of birth (for conscription results)
Response times: within 30 days of receiving the request.
Civil Status Research
The State Archives Section of Urbino holds the second original copy of the Civil Status records (from 1866 to 1970) relating to the Municipalities in the district of the Court of Urbino.
The Pesaro office and the Urbino Section also hold the birth, marriage and baptism registers compiled at the parishes located in the province for the period 1861-1865.
Finally, the Napoleonic Civil Status (1808-1814) is held at the three offices, although fragmentary.
The request cannot contain more than 3 names, for which the following data must be provided:
name; surname; year of birth; place of birth; name of parents, or at least of the father, to exclude cases of homonymy
Response times: within 30 days of receiving the request.
