The State Archives of Pesaro, established as a State Archives Section with Ministerial Decree 22 March 1955, came into operation on the second floor of the Oliveriana Library on 2 May of the same year, in implementation of the art. 2 of the law. 22 December 1939 n. 2006 and then became the State Archive pursuant to the Presidential Decree. 30 September 1963 n. 1409.
Since 1978, the Pesaro institute has been located in the premises of the building designed by the famous Pesaro architect Celio Francioni, who was particularly active in redesigning the urban face of Pesaro in the years of the economic boom, and also houses the Financial Offices.
